First exposure

My first steps on this journey were to explore where I might fit in on the spectrum of healthcare careers. Becoming an MD like my father or my cousins seemed too daunting. Becoming a nurse or physician's assistant didn't fit me either. Becoming a hospital administrator would keep at a computer or a desk where I'd already spent 20 years of my working life.

Then one day at work, I was feeling the onset of a cold and my co-worker suggested Yin Chiao - a Chinese herbal formula. I took 4 of the grassy-tasting pills that afternoon and another four that evening before bed, and the next morning, no symptoms and no cold. Hmm . . . this might bear further investigation.
